Book Review

A week or two ago I shared about an exciting opportunity through BookSneeze where I receive Free books by agreeing to write a review when I'm finished reading...
Well, this is my first review.

I chose Jesus, My Father, the CIA, and Me by Ian Cron.
The reason I chose this book, quite frankly, is because it had the fewest reviews at the time.
(My "bleeding heart" will always go toward the ones who appear as the underdog)!

Anyhow, the book was waiting in my mailbox for me when I arrived home Saturday night after a day out with the family.
I was so excited to have a new read that I started it that very night.
Let me just say, the first 60 pages flew by in no time!
I was hooked with the first sentence!
And this book is certainly NO underdog!

I love stories about real people and real life.
This is one of those stories.
It is a book about life, relationship, healing and salvation.
It isn't stuffy, arrogant, religious or phony.
It is written by a real man who has been through some real "stuff".

Several times through out the book, I found myself laughing out loud.
Each time my hubby would look over at me and say, "What?", so I finally began reading, out loud, to him the passages which made me laugh.
Guess what? They made him laugh too and he didn't even have the background information to go with it!
Yes, it's that good.

Ian is, I believe, a "Master Storyteller".
And if you enjoy real stories about real people, I suggest that you add this book to your own list of reads.

Oh yeah, if you have a blog and like to read,
hook up with BookSneeze and you could read it for Free.

God Thoughts No. Twenty One

Living, basking, marvelling, revelling in Peace!

"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!"
Isaiah 26:3

There is no fear for those who have given the reigns of their lives to the Lord.
They are confident that He knows what He is doing.
There is no fear of the future because He has the Victory!

"The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?"
Psalm 27:1
Praying that Perfect Peace and Absence of Fear
are yours realized today and every day!

God Thoughts No. Twenty

Today I'm sharing what's been on my heart because it's been the journey God has had me on.

A Journey of Love ~
To live the Love of Jesus every day of my life;
To put aside my perception of what my "rights" are
and to live the example which He has set before me.
~A Journey of Love

"If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God's love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God's love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).
Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or  in order that I may glory, but have not love (God's love in me), I gain nothing.
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. "
1 Corinthians 13:1-8 AMP

It isn't cliche; it's a way of Life.

God Thoughts No. Nineteen

"Jesus said ...I am the Way and the Truth and the Life;
no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me."
John 14:6

He made it so simple.

Just give me Jesus!

Proverbs 31 Woman

A decade ago,
the Lord took me through an in depth study of the Proverbs 31 Woman
(Proverbs 31:10-31).

For a solid year, He had me read, re-read, research and purpose to be as this woman.
And every year since then He has encouraged me to re-visit that Scripture passage in order that I may be refreshed, reminded, and given new revelation.

Because of this, I am continually open to and aware of unique opportunities with income earning potential.
This past Sunday, I was invited by a fellow blogger,
to enroll in a webinar presented by

is committed to connecting Bloggers with Businesses by providing a way for businesses to have their brand promoted by "real people" via sharing about them through blog posts.

Each Blogger is given the opportunity for great earning potential while providing businesses with marketing that is both unique AND creative!

I am very excited about this opportunity and hope that you will visit
site to learn more! Whether you are a Blogger or a Business, this is a wonderful, innovative opportunity for Bloggers and Businesses alike!

One of the requirements for this to be a success for me as a Proverbs 31 Woman seeking to add to my household's income is that I need to have at  least two hundred (yep, that's 200) FOLLOWERS for my blog!!!

So, I ask you, dear Reader, to please sign up as a "follower" of my blog, via either, lessonsfromthedesert.blogspot.com OR
via email.
And then share and/or re- post anything that you like or find helpful or interesting on your own blog, website, Facebook, Twitter or any other social media account you may have!

Anything you can do to help me succeed in this endeavor is GREATLY appreciated!
And if you are interested in becoming a part of this wonderful opportunity, please feel free to contact me and we can get started together!

Oh! And please, stop by Leelou's Blog  and check out her AMAZING site! You won't be disappointed!

Also, a special "thank you" to Tracey at Twigs for showing me how to get my links on here quick and easy! What a life saver! Check out her blogs too! She has one for Twigs (which I just happen to write for) and one for Prom Flowers where she features some amazing designs by some amazing people!

Thanks again and I pray you have an extra blessed day!
