God Thoughts No. Ten

The other day as I was listening to my youngest daughter
sing and play the piano
my heart just melted.

At first I couldn't figure out why I was so touched by it.
Then the Lord said,
"This is just an inkling of what I feel when My children sing to me.
I am imparting to you the joy I experience from the praises of my people.
I inhabit them.
So praise often!"

One more reason to sing to the Lord all the earth!
He inhabits those praises!
Hold nothing back.
Sing with all your heart
and all your voice!

Let all inhibitions go and "Just do it!"

Hallelujah!!

God Thoughts No. Nine

Lyics to a song keep running through my head.
For weeks now, running through my mind.

The chorus says,
"We keep waiting,
waiting on the world to change."

In order for the world to change,
people must change.

I can sit back and wait for others to change,
or I can take the necessary steps for me to change.

One Man came~
in order that the world be changed.

Not by force,
but by Freedom.

That Man patiently waits~
for each person to choose change.

As the choice is made,
His Spirit empowers ~
Change occurs.

The world will change ~
one person at a time.

Wedding Anniversary

The Hubby and I are celebrating our 21st Wedding Anniversary today.

What an adventure it has been!

Out of those 21 years, we had one year where we thought about "calling it quits".
Our seventh year was a rough one.

But God,  in His infinite goodness, reached out and knocked us into our senses!
That was a year of great learning and the beginning of truly surrendering to the Lord;
allowing Him to take the reigns of both our individual lives and the life that we had built together.

Today I can honestly say that I am truly thankful that we both decided to seek God and really listen to what it was that He wanted for our lives.

The fourteen years since then have been wonderful.
Even better than we could have imagined.

That's not to say that we haven't weathered storms or gone through trials.
We have had our fair share.
But we have been able to face them together and with the Lord.

Today, we praise God for His gift of Grace ~
for it is what has kept us together all these years.

God Thoughts No. Eight

Relationships are two-way.

Because of Christ, God stands in waiting, for relationship with us.
But it's only a relationship if we respond.

Responding to relationship is a choice.
Not to be forced or coerced.

Those who have the best relationship with Him, want to.

They know Him for who He really is.
And desire to know Him more.

To know Him is to love Him.

To love Him is to love others.
Unconditionally.
For who they are.
Regardless of whether they perform to your own standards or not.

Response to that love creates relationship.
Relationship is two-way.

There are two givers
and two receivers.

My Valentine at Twigs

I Spotted You (and fell in love) Puppy
For those of you who don't know (or haven't paid attention - hehe), I work part-time and blog for Yerington's local flower/gift shop - Twigs (http://www.yeringtonflowers.com/).
It is a joy and an honor to work with Tracey and I just love her! So, I thought I would share a little bit about what is going on at Twigs for Valentine's Day.
Whether you live in Yerington or not, I hope you'll visit Twigs' website an/or blog and leave us a comment!

My Valentine

I can’t believe it’s almost Valentine’s Day!

Just the other day, my (teenage) children were reminiscing about making Valentine “mailboxes” in kindergarten and how much fun it was.

As I listened to their conversation, however, I was a little saddened to hear my 15 year old son remark about how a child’s “popularity” was based upon how many Valentines he/she received.

Then I thought about how I have taught them how to view Valentine’s Day.

In our home, Valentine’s Day is one more opportunity to show people that we care about them. Every year, we spend time making Valentines for the people we hold most dear. Whether it is cookies, cupcakes, cards or trinkets, we pour our love into our Valentine treats so that each of our “Valentine’s” will know how special they are!

Here at Twigs, we delight in providing for all of your Valentine needs.

Whether it is flowers, chocolates/cookies, balloons or trinkets, we have what you’re looking for!

Chocolate Indulgence Bouquet
How about surprising your co-workers with a beautiful, wrapped carnation? Perhaps your children would be delighted with a special stuffed animal, a decadent chocolate bar or box of cookies.

Your Secret Pal might love any of the above or perhaps enjoy a bath fizzy and martini mix…or perhaps, a delightfully scented candle.

Wouldn’t it be fun to surprise your special “someone” with a balloon bouquet?

Valentine Balloons-several bouquets to choose from!

Is it Roses you want? Well, we have those too!!!
