I was awakened at 2 a.m. by the sound of pouring rain
- glorious rain -
and the urgent need to get up before by bladder burst!
Anyway, as I lay back down, to sleep - haha
Many thoughts began swirling around in my mind.
After a time of praise to the Maker of the rain
and receiving some encouraging words for a friend,
my thoughts turned to all of the things I've read the past week or two.
From Facebook statuses to Blog posts;
News headlines to articles;
Memoirs to the Bible;
All the questions, concerns, thoughts and ideas of man were busy swirling around in my mind
when I heard, ever so softly yet quite clearly,
"Lysa, it all comes down to Faith like a child."
Wow!
Yeah!
He desires for all to come to Him as a child;
a small child whose thinking has not been damaged by the world.
He made Salvation simple.
"Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 18:1-5
"He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Mark 10:14b-15
"But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” Matthew 19:14
And in our child-like faith, He will reveal to us the things which are hidden from the world so that we may become full of the knowledge of Him so that we can share it with the world.
But we must remember to do so with child-like simplicity.
"At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!" Matthew 11:25-26
"At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way." Luke 10:21
We do well to remember that
knowledge and wisdom without love and simplicity of heart is just a bunch of pomp and noise!
Praying, love, blessings & simplicity of heart over you my friend!
